Serial entrepreneur and author of Second Stage Entrepreneurship (Palgrave/Macmillan, 2013), Dan Weinfurter is Orchid Black, a management that rapidly increases enterprise value by crafting a customized value creation playbook then injecting our elite group of former CXO’s to generate outsized growth.
Previously, he was the founder and CEO of three private equity-backed businesses and was the No. 2 executive for a fourth. All four grew from start up to considerable scale and achieved high rankings on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing private companies, with Parson Group, his first start up, landing the coveted #1 spot. Dan’s most recent start-up, GrowthPlay, achieved the #1 ranking in the business services category and #17 overall.
Dan started his career at General Electric, hired into their sales training program upon graduation from college. He spent 8 years at GE in 4 different US cities in roles of increasing responsibility in sales and sales management. He has provided consulting, interim management and Board director/advisory services to a variety of start-ups and large public companies. From 2015-2017, Dan was an Adjunct Lecturer at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, creating and teaching a class titled “Human Capital and Enterprise Scaling.” He lives in Northern California and Wisconsin.
